Testing out Manga Studio.

  1. Ugh you know what. All of my friends said that I was missing out bigtime on not drawing digitally. So I ended up buying a Wacom Intuos 5. I had it for 3 days before I sent it back for a refund... What a total piece of shit that was, you can't rotate the frigging pad as you would do with paper. The effective reading range was only 14mm from the tablet surface. So everytime my pen went outside of that zone, when I put it back in it would spaz off and go elsewhere. ._.; Maybe it's just me, but I hate the things.

So I'm back in my comfort zone with traditional media and Adobe Photoshop + Illustrator. <3

    1. Ah damn, don't be hatin on tablets! They may take a while to learn, but they are sooo worth it. I think the intuos line is the best out there with the exception to a cintiq.
My main problem is that when I like to get really detailed I hold the pencil really tightly I guess, and it's hard to do that with the stylus. I think a cintiq would probably solve a lot of my problems.

But I rotate my art alll the time when I work to! So I just set the rotate shortcut (r) to a button on the tablet, and I'm always swishing that canvas around. Have you ever tried paint tool sai?
and what do you mean? you're not supposed to draw outside of the surface, silly, xD

    2. lmao I didn't realise you replied, sorry xD
I know what you mean, I hold my pens/pencils really tight. Not a fan of loose movement unless drafting things like arcs etc. :)

Funny enough, I just sent you a link to a Cintiq. it's about 15 minutes long, but wow the person plus that screen is mind blowing. Plus they're using paint tool sai too ;) Which I do also have :P Yeah see, rotating the pad is so much easier imo and you can get it in the perfect angle that you want it in. I could use the rotate, but it's a drag -.- maybe I'm just and old fart xD

Oh as for the surface. I meant that when I've drawn a line, and you know as with normal drawing you lift the pencil up away from the paper. On the pad when you go outside of it's reading range towards you, when you put it back down it'll auto relocate the pointer back to the centre of the pad. :| that's the one thing that I really hated. :(

    3. Haha yeah, I used the rotate function all the time. I actual like PS's version a bit better. That and I'm always flipping horizontally.

Really? I've never had that problem. You must move you pencil quiet a lot then!

    4. Gah I really wish that my email would tell me when you reply. D:

Yeah, I'm always here and there with my pencils. I'm really erratic with my drawing ^_^; always lifting the frigging things up after I've drawn a few lines.
